Description
In his films, Matt Damon has had a lot of lucky escapes. But faced with solar flares, geomagnetically induced currents, radiation sickness, and magnetic storms that create deadly radiation belts, would it really be possible to bring him back from Mars alive? Mike Liemohn, UM Professor of Climate and Space Sciences and Engineering and “Space Weather” expert will discuss the challenges and realities of space travel and the probability of successfully saving Matt Damon from space.
