Christmas in Saline
The elves work hard year round to bring the best Christmas activities to Saline year after year. The holiday festivities all start when the SACC partners with the City of Saline & KeyBank to light the downtown Christmas Tree outside of Key Bank on the corner of Michigan Av and N. Ann Arbor Street. The tree lighting is celebrated with festive music all while you enjoy cookies from Benny's Bakery and hot cocoa & coffee from Carrigan Cafe.
The holiday fun continues on Saturday, December 1st at 5:30p when the 43rd Annual Christmas Parade comes to downtown. The parade will make its way down Michigan Ave. from Davenport St. to Lewis St. with more than 1,400 participants. In the parade there are 40 floats, vehicles (including a hot air balloon!), bands, twirlers, dancers, and animals being followed by the man in red himself, Santa Claus, who will arrive at the four corners to greet the crowds of excited children of all ages.
Parking downtown will be limited due to closures, so visitors are encouraged to use the free Saline School bus shuttle from 4p-8p between Busch's Fresh Food Market and the W. Henry Street parking lot behind Mac's Acadian Seafood Shack. Also, during the parade, the Chamber will announce the Busch's grocery raffle prize winners with a grand prize totaling $1,000 worth of groceries! All proceeds from the raffle sales help support the holiday activities. Immediately following the parade, anyone can visit Santa & Mrs. Claus in the Merchants Square Building at 131 E. Michigan Ave. until 8p. Please enter from the parking lot off of N. Ann Arbor St through the rear door & be sure to bring a camera.
The holiday fun continues on Saturday, December 8th from 10a-1:30p at the ever popular Treasure Trail to Santa event held at Busch's Shopping Center. Participants should start at Cottage Inn and follow the trail to Santa finding treats, a horse-drawn carriage offering rides, a free photo booth and fun at every turn.
